Family History

While in Utah Dad and I had a wonderful time discussing family history stuff. We went thru some old photographs and identified a few people--and that is always an awesome thing for me. I took pictures of pictures from an old photo album that belonged to my great grandmother.
This is my favorite image in the album. I would love to know who they are. Because the album is fragile I didn't want to remove the images to scan them, or even scan them while in the album, so I took pictures of the pictures. At home I did minor digital restoration and cropping.

I don't know who this couple is--again, I'd love to ID them. This is a composite I created. The background is the back cover of the album. the image on the left is a cropped image showing some of the album page with the photograph in place. On the right is a cropped image with minor restoration and adjustments.

A restored image from the album. I do not know who she is.

Another slightly cropped image with no restoration or color adjustments, showing what the album pages look like. The paper is fragile and in many instances falling apart. i have not yet identified this man.

If I could do one thing all day, everyday it would be to take pictures. Part of that, however, would be doing photo restoration.  More than that.... being able to find out who these people are and some of their stories.

Back From Utah and Back to School

We made a really quick trip to Utah. I was not allowed to drive for three days, so Jeddy drove us there and he drove about 2/3s of the way back. It is wonderful to have a 2nd driver. I was told to take it easy while there.

The trip was good, but much to fast. Dad was so happy to have us there. He wanted to have Robyn and me divide up Mom's jewelry. That was just weird. I'm not sure I was ready for that.

The high-light for EL Jay was going shooting with PapaJoe.

While we were there we went thrift store shopping and Jeddy found this vintage 70's Tux and those hot pink pants--he is so cool! And a trip to Utah is not complete unless we stop at Burger bar for Buffalo Burgers and Lime Rickies.

On the way home we stopped in Prove to visit with Grandaddy Heinz (Jeddy's paternal grandfather.) He seemed to enjoy Jeddy's music. Heinz had gone down hill  from when we saw him in December. I will be surprised if he makes it to Summer.

Spring Break

When I wrote my last post I was excited because we were going to Utah to see my dad during Spring Break. BUT.... Yeah, instead, I ended up in the hospital for five nights--beginning Thursday shortly after I got home from school. I was having chest pains and my blood sugar was over 350. They ran a stress test, which I failed, so I was admitted to the hospital and more tests were run, including an angiogram. That came back with good results and I was sent home.

My sugar was regulated and I was put on insulin--four times a day. This is a good thing. I know that metformin was not enough. For a while now my sugar has rarely been below 200. I know that I can get into a better routine now and get healthier.

I just got home and tomorrow, the boys and I will leave for Utah.

SO Behind

Spring Break starts today--for me--after my Media class. YAY!

So behind. Not in my classes (although I have two papers and a print project due the day I go back to classes..... I don't want to study. I want to sleep, but I won't be sleeping.

I was just noticing how far behind I am on this site and the blogs, etc.... One of my pet peeves when people ask me how to promote their businesses is blogs that are not up to date...... OOPS

Because I just had a birthday, I thought I might offer you a piece of cake.
